Clear Gutters Before Wellington Winter — Not After the First Storm

Wellington gutters fill from wind and trees, not just autumn. The job is to have them empty before the first sustained winter rain — not after water has already run behind the fascia.

When: Late autumn is the usual window. Properties under the town belt — Karori, Churton Park, Crofton Downs — often need a mid-year check as well.

Coastal: Seatoun and Petone get less leaf and more wind-blown debris. Still worth a flush before winter.

What we do: Hand-clear leaves and silt, flush downpipes, check the run for sagging or leaks. We do not just scoop the front and leave the downpipe blocked.

With a house wash or roof treatment: Clearing gutters first means treated runoff actually drains. Book them together.
