Coastal House Washing: Salt, Lichen and Harbour Suburbs

A house on the harbour is not the same job as a house in Churton Park. Salt film, lichen on north roofs and faded paint on the weather side need a coastal mix and a rinse of the joinery — not a generic city wash.

Where it shows first: South-west and harbour faces in Seatoun and Miramar. Jackson Street timber in Petone. Titahi Bay's west-coast streets.

What we change: Detergent dwell, a thorough rinse of windows and aluminium, and we usually recommend roof treatment if north slopes are already green. Lichen holds water against iron.

What we do not do: Blast faded coastal paint. It chalks and you are left with bare timber.

Inland vs coast on the same run: We quote the address. A Plimmerton bungalow and a Whitby brick home are not the same price or the same method.
